Dr. Koziarski & Family Surgical Staff
Dr Koziarski was born and raised in Toledo, OH. He did his undergraduate education at the University of Toledo, and then attended the Medical College of Ohio to obtain his MD degree. Following medical school, he completed residency at the Medical College of Ohio in the study of General and Vascular Surgery. As a Board Certified general surgeon, Dr Koziarski began private practice in Battle Creek in 1994, where he provided general and vascular surgical services. In 2003, Dr Koziarski limited his vascular practice to the treatment of varicose veins. While still performing the full range of general surgery, he took additional training in the treatment of venous diseases and became board certified in Phlebology (The treatment of venous diseases). Dr Koziarski was the first specialist to obtain this certification in the Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo-Battle Creek area.
Dr Koziarski has stayed on the cutting edge of the practice of surgery throughout his career in Battle Creek. He has helped advance the treatment of breast cancer and breast disease by being the first surgeon in the area to do a Sentinal Lymph Node biopsy for the treatment of breast cancer. Dr Koziarski is the only surgeon in Battle Creek to have an ultrasound lab in the office. This allows immediate needle biopsies of breast lesions at the time of the initial visit. Many minimally invasive surgical techniques were first performed in Battle Creek by Dr Koziarski including laparoscopic splenectomy, laparoscopic colon surgery, and laparoscopic ventral hernia repair.
